No 2WD access to the Mt Buller Village from 10 June onwards
09 Jun 2010

Please be advised that due to the high level of pre-season snow that 2WD vehicles will not be permitted to enter the Mt Buller Village from tomorrow (Thurs 10 June) onwards.  To ensure that visitors can still access the Village and have an enjoyable and safe alpine experience, the RMB has rostered on additional staff to communicate current conditions to visitors, and has also arranged for the MMBL taxi service to commence earlier than scheduled to facilitate Village access.

Starting tomorrow morning, all vehicles entering the resort will be guided through Mirimbah Traffic Control to be advised of the road conditions, restrictions imposed on accessing the Village and the need for 2WD vehicles to carry chains.

When resort visitors reach the Skating Rink car park, they will be met by RMB staff who will tell them where to park their 2WD vehicles. An MMBL taxi service will then be on hand from 8am onwards to transfer passengers into the Village. A fee will be applied to this service by MMBL, albeit at  a rate that is reduced from the standard transfer cost. Normal taxi fares will again apply once formal Traffic Control operations commence on Friday.

Any residents or staff with 2WD vehicles currently in the Village should move their vehicles to the car park areas or off the mountain as soon as possible, and are advised that wheel chains will be required in order to do so. If you do not already have wheel chains, for a fee Tim Caffin can meet you in the Village and rent and fit chains as needed. He can be contacted on 0427 077 572.

4WD and AWD vehicles are still permitted to access the Village until normal restictions apply at noon on Friday.

If you have any queries, please contact Resort Management on 5777 6077.
