The CFA will be conducting a series of information sessions for operators of all on-mountain businesses, including retail outlets, restaurants and accommodation providers in relation to emergency planning, in particular evacuation planning. The purpose of these sessions is to raise awareness of:

• The need to have an emergency plan in place, in particular in relation to evacuation;
• Legislative requirements;
• Duty of Care to guests;
• The types of emergencies that could occur;
• Emergency management guidelines; and
• Guidance that is available to assist you create an emergency evacuation plan tailored to your business.

These sessions will take place each Thursday from 2-3 pm, commencing 19 August, in the Auditorium on level 4 of the Buller Community Centre.

We encourage you to attend one of these sessions to enable you to prepare an emergency plan which can be readily available and implemented in the unfortunate event of an emergency situation.
