Unfortunately do to the extreme weather across Victoria, Picnic in the Park has been cancelled for 2010. We hope to see you at Mt Buller for another one of our fantastic events.
Celebrate Labour Day Weekend in style in the Mansfield-Mt Buller region. Catch some bull-riding at the ever popular Merrijig Rodeo on the Saturday night for the true High Country experience and then ease into Sunday with Picnic in the Park, a gourmet food and wine festival held at Mirimbah Park, at the base of Mt Buller. A number of local food and wine producers will tempt you with their beautiful High Country produce, while you relax on the grass and enjoy the live music and entertainment.
Some of the producers on show at Picnic in the Park are wineries including Delatite, Kinloch, Mt Samaria Vineyard, Growlers Gully and Buller View, as well as Jamieson Brewery with their yummy beers. Food and produce stalls include the Mt Buller Chalet (with a cooking demonstration by Executive Chef Shane Lewis), Mansfield Regional Produce Store, Stephen's Fine Foods, Crawford Catering, Cafe 41 and spectacular cupcakes from Kim's Creative Cakes. Cinnamon Stix day spa will even be pampering people with mini facials, massages, manicures and pedicures.
Musical acts include Sean White, Jess Maytom, JoJo and Friends, Richard Perso, Five Shades of Mauve, The Big Fish, Marty Jones and more - blues, jazz, rock, folk didgeridoos and choirs! Kiddies and enjoy a workshop with Simone's Music Garden, or play with frisbees and kites or paddle in the shallows of the Delatite River.
So make a weekend out of it and stay on top of the world at Mt Buller - there are plenty of accommodation deals available, and a free bus will shuttle picnic-goers up and down the mountain throughout the day on Sunday (bookings essential).
