Mt Buller will host a dedicated women's mountain bike skills clinic on January 30-31, with coaching from the 2009 Elite Women's Four-Cross World Champion, Caroline Buchanan. This ladies-only clinic is the first of its kind for Mt Buller, and is designed to provide women with an opportunity to learn in a safe and supportive environment with specialised coaching.
Caroline said she is looking forward to visiting Mt Buller and is thrilled to be involved. "I'm really excited about heading to Buller and can't wait to get down there and offer some advice and coaching to the group. A lot more girls are getting into mountain biking which is great to see and gives me a fantastic opportunity to help them get involved and learn about the sport.
"We'll be covering a range of topics during the clinic, including bike setup, equipment and maintenance, plus riding techniques like climbing, descending and switchbacks. Mt Buller's the perfect spot to learn and I'm sure everyone will get a lot out of the weekend."
Mt Buller is fast establishing itself as a premier mountain biking destination, with over 100km of quality trails to suit all abilities and interests. Stage three of the Resort's mountain bike trail development is underway, which will see the addition of a 9km loop to Mt Stirling and back plus a skills park.
The women's MTB clinic will be held at Mt Buller, just three hours drive from Melbourne, and includes equipment, lunch, chairlift access, coaching and more. Cost is $200 per person and spaces are limited.
