Easter at Mt Buller - eggs at altitude!
16 Mar 2010

Mt Buller will host a range of events and activities for all ages and interests this Easter long weekend, with highlights including the inaugural Alpine Art Market, the Cadbury Giant Easter Egg Hunt and the Mountain High Fun Run.

The Alpine Art Market is a new event replacing the Mt Buller Easter Art Prize and Exhibition, and will showcase a contemporary display of works across a number of mediums ranging from paintings, sculpture and photographs to mixed media, glass, jewellery and millinery. Artworks will follow the theme ‘Mt Buller and the High Country' and will be available for purchase at affordable prices.

The Mountain High Fun Run features five course options, from a leisurely 3km jog to a challenging 10km course that features the climb to the summit, and takes in the beautiful views and surroundings of the Mt Buller alpine area. Entry is via the Mt Buller website, and is $10 for adults and free for kids, with all proceeds donated to the Mt Buller Community Health Service.

Events Coordinator for the Mt Buller and Mt Stirling Alpine Resort Management Board, Katie Bowker, said the Easter weekend is a great time to head for the Alps. "There is plenty to do for all ages at Mt Buller over Easter - the kids absolutely love the Cadbury Giant Easter Egg Hunt, and everyone can get involved and jog or walk for a great cause in the Fun Run.

"The new Alpine Art Market will showcase a range of local and visiting artists, and will provide a great opportunity for people to access affordable artworks in the stunning surrounds of Mt Buller."

In addition to the main highlights of Easter, visitors can take advantage of scenic chairlift rides, Easter services at the Mt Buller Chapel, guided nature walks, kids' activities, movies and much more being held across the weekend beginning on Good Friday.
