Candoux is one of the oldest family clubs still on the mountain and now comprises a stylish modern penthouse apartment over two levels.

Luxury upper level apartment with stunning high country views to the north. Only 75 metres from the village center and clock tower.

The site was recently redeveloped and was ready for the 2001 season. Candoux is one of the oldest family clubs still on the mountain and now comprises a stylish modern penthouse apartment over two levels. It includes a comfortable open plan lounge / dining room and well equipped galley kitchen. We sleep 8, in four large twin bedrooms, all with ensuite.

    The second season of the Mt Buller Summer School is set to sizzle with two of Australia’s most popular chefs delivering courses at the Summer School. Chef Guy Grossi returns for the signature event conducting an unprecedented, hands-on cooking tutorial while patisserie extraordinaire, Adriano Zumbo of Masterchef fame, will thrill participants over Easter with his Sweet Treats masterclass. Other courses include Painting, Botanical Illustration, Alpine Photography and Quilting and Patchwork.

     

     

    Hot on the heels of a successful inaugural season, the Mt Buller Summer School is back for another year in 2012 with an exciting calendar of events and courses.  The second season is set to sizzle with two of Australia’s most popular chefs signing up to deliver courses at the Summer School.  Chef Guy Grossi returns for the signature event of the season conducting an unprecedented, hands-on cooking tutorial while patissier extraordinaire, Adriano Zumbo of Masterchef fame, will thrill participants over Easter with his ‘Sweet Treats’ masterclass. 

     

    Chef Grossi has constructed a tantalizing menu for his half-day cooking class, which will culminate in a group lunch, hosted by Guy himself, for 32 very lucky participants.  This rare opportunity to learn in such close proximity with one of Australia’s most outstanding chefs is proving to be immensely popular.  The cost for the Grossi event is $285 per person and includes the cooking class, lunch, all food and beverages, and a goodie bag.  Friends and family can join the group for lunch for $80 per person, includes all food and beverages.

     

    Adriano Zumbo, well known for his amazing creations showcased on the popular TV show Masterchef, is sure to thrill participants on Easter Saturday when he delivers his ‘Sweet Treats’ masterclass.  Zumbo has put together an impressive menu for his class which includes learning how to make Easter Eggs Zumbo style.  Participants will have the opportunity to enjoy afternoon tea with Adriano during his masterclass as well as sampling his creations.  The masterclass is $125 per person and includes the class, afternoon tea and recipes.

     

    Also on the event calendar next year will be the ‘Seductive Surfaces – Painting with Passion’ course being held by internationally renowned artist, Georgia Mansur.  Originally from the USA, Georgia is now based in Mudgee, NSW and conducts workshops throughout Australia, and in such exotic locations as Italy, Greece and the United States.  She now adds Mt Buller to that list and looks forward to the inspiration and creativity that the beautiful High Country will stir.

    About Merrijig Ski Club

    Merrijig boasts magnificent views of the surrounding Victorian Alps from the split level open plan lounge and dining rooms, and from most bedrooms. All this is only a 5 minute walk from the centre of Mt Buller village.

    Merrijig is a great place for a wedding, a special party, or a business conference. There are plenty of summer activities just minutes from the lodge, including bushwalking, horse riding, abseiling, gym, squash, tennis and 4WD safaris. This summer the lodge will not be staffed and will open for self-catered groups.

    Many other activities such as hot-air ballooning and white water rafting are available at nearby Mansfield in the heart of the High Country.

    The lodge provides quality, budget accommodation in a friendly environment at affordable rates.

    Monash Sport operates and provides a 44 bunk Alpine Lodge 300 metres from the ski lift ticket office and village centre right on top of the mountain.

     
    The lodge provides quality, budget accommodation in a friendly environment at affordable rates. The 2 storey building has 4 bunks to a room (6 bunks in 2 rooms) and 2 onsite managers to ensure a comfortable stay.
     
    Features include a fully-equipped communal kitchen with commercial dishwasher, micro wave, toasted sandwich maker, open-plan lounge/dining room, TV/DVD and drying room.
     
    To enable the continuation of affordable accommodation rates we ask that you perform those minor duties allocated to you by the lodge managers.
     
    Bookings for the season open in May each year.
     
    Guest Provision
    The rooms contain all necessary bedding including pillows, doonas and extra blankets but you must bring your own linen, including pillow slips and towels. Rooms have provision to hang clothes and are centrally heated. For extra warmth BYO sleeping bag.
     
    The communal kitchen is supplied with cutlery and crockery as well as basic items such as tea, coffee and sugar however you will need to bring your own food (unless you are planning to eat out), beverages, toiletries and hair dryers.

    The lodge can be booked by anyone – you don’t have to be a Monash University student, however, Monash University students, staff and graduates receive discounted rates and some priority booking opportunities during winter.

    Schuss Lodges Mount Buller has a resident manager during peak summer periods.The lodge is self-catering and has a BYO licence. The kitchen, dining and lounge areas are communal and shared by all. The kitchen is well-equipped with easy access to the fridge, freezer and pantry space for food storage which is allocated to each room. High speed commercial dishwashers are provided for ease of use and hygiene.     The Pole House

    The Pole House provides you and your family with the opportunity to experience ambience in a delightful bushland setting just minutes from Mt Buller.

    The Pole House is at the foot of Mt Buller and is only 20 minutes from the alpine resort. It can accommodate (12) people.

    It has five levels reaching high into the sky, four balconies and has a turret – with comfortable chairs and table – where you can read, watch the clouds go by or have a quiet moment.


    There is an outdoor table with 12 captain chairs and a Gas four burner BBQ (with apron) on main balcony. This is a non smoking house. Smoking is allowed on any of the 4 balconies.


    The lounge is heated by a gas log fired heater, you use the remote to turn on and adjust. There is 4 couches, with a large TV & DVD.
    The lounge and rumpus room are both heated with electric heaters. All bedrooms have electric heaters and electric blankets. Each lounge has TV/DVD’s. Radio/CD player is also available. Portable fans are stored in drying room.


    The Pole House has a fully operational stainless steel Kitchen equipped with a stove, oven, refrigerator, dishwater, microwave, toaster, jug, coffee machine, all cutlery, crockery, pots plastic ware etc. – salt & pepper.


    laundry has a washing machine and dryer – bring your own powder.


    There is two bathrooms – 2 toilets, 2 showers, 1 bath – soap, shampoo & conditioner supplied.

    The Apartment is modern and fully renovated. The Living area is a good size with very comfortable lounges. The kitchen has stone bench tops and stainless steel appliances. All crockery, glasses and cooking utensels are of a high quality.

    We supply condiments, cooking oil, sugar, dishwasher tablets and wipes.The Master Bedroom is private and divided from the living area and the other bedroom areas are off the hallway. They are small but comfortable.
    There are 2 bathroom areas - one with a toilet and vanity and the other with a glass shower and vanity.
