Fly fishing is a popular sport in the area and a great way to enjoy the tranquility of the North East streams. You can experience these scenic spots independently or take advantage of a professional fishing instructor.

Experienced guides teach the art of casting, lure fishing and stream craft whilst actively promoting sustainable angling through a catch and release program. Check out the fly fishing packages offered by the Australian Alpine Institute:


Learn the Art of Fly Fishing
Spend 3 hours learning the art of fly fishing in one of the local well-stocked dams. All equipment and snacks included. 2 people required - bookings essential. Full Day Guided Fly Fishing Tour
Fully guided morning and evening tours are held along the Delatite, King and Howqua river systems throughout summer. $275 per adult, maximum of 2 adults. Minimum charge $350 for a full day. Tour includes transport into the river systems, experienced guides, tuition and equipment. Time, meeting place and duration will be organised at time of booking.
