Location Mt Buller is conveniently located just 248 kilometres (approximately three hours drive) north-east of Melbourne and is the closest alpine resort to Melbourne's Tullamarine International Airport. A number of transportation options are available, making Mt Buller very accessible no matter where you're coming from.
The Mt Buller Village is 1600 meters above sea level, providing a special alpine experience for guests on a year-round basis. Featuring a wide range of accommodation, bars, restaurants, activities and retail outlets, once you're there you'll never have to leave.
The resort is situated close to several of Victoria's larger regional centres including Wangaratta, Shepparton and Albury-Wodonga. The picturesque town of Mansfield is also located on the plains enroute to the mountain.

Cool summer On average, the temperature at Mt Buller is 10°C cooler than Melbourne, providing welcome relief from the heat of summer. During the warmer months, temperatures range from 17-25°C and overnight they drop to 6-12°C. The comfortable climate and idyllic setting make for the perfect summer event.
In spring, guests often find snow on Mt Buller, with late snowfalls providing magical scenery and snowplay opportunities. In autumn, the milder weather makes exploring the mountain an absolute pleasure.
Winter From June until the end of September, Mt Buller transforms into a magical winter wonderland as a blanket of snow covers the alpine resort. The mountain offers an exciting selection of snow-related activities ranging from scenic snowshoe walks to the downhill thrills of skiing and snowboarding. In the Village, there are also over 30 bars and restaurants and a range of retail options to keep you entertained.
Winter conferences, weddings and events need to take into consideration transport and village access conditions, and an increased demand for accommodation. Off peak times in June and September are ideal to visit, when the weather is a little friendlier and the resort is quieter.
