There's no better way to unlock the secrets of the High Country than on your own two feet. Mt Buller and the neighbouring Mt Stirling offer a variety of hiking experiences for all ages and levels of fitness. Set out on your own or download the free Mt Buller Walks app for an informative guided audio tour and learn about the flora, fauna and history of the resort.

Mt Stirling Interpretive Walks
Head to Mt Stirling for a beautiful walk in a pristine alpine environment. Mt Buller Mt Stirling Resort Management has created two interpretive walks on Mt Stirling - a 4.4km Wombat Drop Loop and a 12.3km Summit Loop.
Walks start from King Saddle Shelter.
A number of interpretive signs are positioned along the trail, telling the stories of Mt Stirling's history, from the olden days of logging to the thrill of the ‘Man From Snowy River' movie set and the characters that create the past and present, as well as the flora and fauna that make up the stunning environment.
Most of the trails across the Mt Buller network are shared amongst bush walkers, trail runners, mountain bike riders and horse riders. These trails are marked on each of the trail maps. We ask that all trail users be aware of all other trail users and please share the trails.

Whilst camping is not permitted on Mt Buller, our natural alpine partner Mt Stirling has a number of locations for enjoying the Australian alpine wilderness. Please read through the tips below to ensure you have a fantastic camping experience and leave the alps in pristine condition for all to enjoy.
