How do I get there?

Mountain>First Timer Info>How do I get there?

Whether you are in your own car or a hire car, driving is a great way to get to Mt Buller. There are quite a few ways you can get to Mansfield, the closest major town to Mt Buller:

  • Via Whittlesea and Yea from Plenty Road;
  • Along the Hume Hwy northbound to Tallarook and then to Yea;
  • Along the Hume Hwy southbound to the Benalla/Mansfield turnoff;
  • or along the Maroondah Hwy through Yarra Glen to Yea and then on to Mansfield.

Mansfield is a great place to grab a coffee, snack or hire equipment and wheel chains.

The resort entry gate is 20 minutes from Mansfield and the carparks are a further 20-30 minutes past the gate. A gate entry fee is levied on winter visitors to the resort in order to pay for the upkeep of the village, carparking and the free Village shuttle bus.

Alternatively, sit back and relax in one of the many coaches that take individuals or groups up to Mt Buller and back regularly. There are a number of companies that operate coach transport and day tours. Click here for further coach information.
