Only authorised 4WD vehicles are permitted to enter the Mt Buller Village. All other cars must park in specially designated parking areas located 1.5 kilometres out of the Village. When you reach the car park, an attendant will direct you to a spot where you must leave your car.
If you are staying just for the day, you then have two options. You can either catch a free shuttle bus up into the Village or jump straight onto the Horse Hill chairlift, which will take you right into the heart of the snow fields. There is even a Buller Sports outlet located in the Horse Hill car park, where you can hire equipment and arrange lift passes and ski lessons, so you'll be skiing in next to no time!
If you are staying overnight and carrying luggage, you must catch a taxi. A one-way fare from the car park to your accommodation costs $17.50 for adults and $10.50 for children. It will take approximately 2 minutes to get to the Village.
If you are arriving by coach you will be dropped off in either the car park area (and then required to catch a shuttle bus or taxi) or will be taken directly into the Buller Village - it will all depend on which operator you are traveling with. Either way, when you depart Mt Buller at the end of your trip, your coach will leave from the Horse Hill car park, which you can access via a shuttle bus, taxi or the Horse Hill Chairlift.
