Members of the Board are appointed by the Minister, and have the necessary administrative, managerial, financial, environmental, legal, marketing, sporting and tourism skills to run the Resorts competently. The Board consists of anywhere between three to seven people, who are appointed for a three year period and are eligible to be re-appointed. The current board was appointed on 29 April 2007 and consists of the following people:
John Dyson - Chairman BSc, MBA, MAICD, ASIA, GAICD
John Dyson has been coming to Mt Buller since he was a child. He and his and wife own a property just outside Jamieson, and he has an affinity with the local district year round. With a background in finance and investment, John currently manages Starfish Ventures, a Melbourne based private equity firm making investments in Australian technology companies.
Don Cummins - Deputy Chairman BEc, BEd, PG Dip (Asian Studies), Dip Teaching, GAICD
Former Mayor of the Mansfield Shire and three years spent on the Mt Stirling Resort Management Board, Don Cummins has a strong affinity with Mt Stirling, Mt Buller and the Mansfield area. A mathematics, science and economics teacher for over 20 years, Don is also a long-time farmer with a property at Nillahcootie between Mansfield and Benalla. Andrew Abercrombie B.Ec LLb MBA (IMD) Andrew is a very active “local” at Mt Buller, living on-mountain in winter and working as a ski instructor. His association with Mt Buller goes back to when he was a boy in the 60s, including several years as the Buller Lodge Manager for the Koomerang Ski Club in the 70s. Andrew is the Founding Director of the publically listed FlexiGroup Limited, former Executive Chairman and CEO of Flexirent Capital Pty Ltd and a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Courts of NSW and Victoria. He has strong views regarding the preservation of the alpine region for future generations and ensuring the appropriate development in Resort. Bruce Dowding FCA
Bruce Dowding is the former Managing Director of Buller Ski Lifts and former General Manager of the Chalet Hotel; if you know Mt Buller well, then you’d know or have heard of Bruce. His professional background is in business and financial management. After serving on the Committee of Management in the days of the A.R.C., Bruce has served on the Resort Management Board from its inception in 1998. He has been a very active member, sitting on various Resort Management Board committees including the Mt Buller Marketing Group, the Finance Committee and Remuneration Committee as well as the Mansfield-Mt Buller Regional Tourism Association.
Judy Dixon BEd, Grad Dip Mgmt
With a variety of roles within the ski industry on Mt Buller and internationally in Canada, along with currently managing the visiting journalist program for Mansfield Shire Council, Judy Dixon’s Board appointment offers a fresh perspective with a regional focus. Judy has worked in the marketing and public relations profession within a tourism setting in numerous locations including Mt Buller, Sydney, Port Lincoln, Alberta-Canada and of course Mansfield. Judy’s family has had land in the local area for the last 25 years, which explains her passion for skiing, horse riding and fondness for the area year round.
Susan Hocking BEc (Hons) MA FAICD
A keen skier with an economic background specialising in tourism investment and infrastructure, Susan Hocking combines her extensive professional experience with her passion. Susan is a company director with a strong interest and experience in corporate governance and audit and risk. Her enthusiasm for skiing has seen her ski at every major Australian alpine resort, along with various resorts in North America and Europe.
Stuart Worn MBA, BAppSc, ADipEng, FAICD,MISA, MPIA 
Stuart is a very active Buller skier and is a member of Alkira Ski Club and the Ski Club of Victoria. He has been part of the organising committee’s of the Victorian University Ski & Snowboard Championships (Vic IV) for the last 10 and the Mt Buller Team Challenge (former interclub races) for the last 7 years. He is also the Vice President of Victorian Snowsports Association and a former director of Skiing & Snowboarding Australia. Off-mountain, Stuart is the Executive Officer of the Planning Institute of Australia Victorian Division and prior to this has worked in a variety of management roles related to natural resources and the built environment.
