The Ski Club of Victoria is seeking a Front Office Receptionist to join their team for the coming Winter season.

The Ski Club of Victoria is the oldest alpine club in Victoria and prides itself on its hospitality and historical contributions to Mount Buller as an Alpine Resort.

Ideally we are looking for a fun loving, hard working personality who isnt affraid to have a chat to our members. Experience in a similar role is preferred and great attention to detail and basic administration skill are required. The succesfull candidate will have sound knowledge of all MS Office programs and any experience using a property management system or channel manager will be highly regarded. This position will ideally start in May and all applicants must be able to fufill the entire season (May-End of September) and must have the right to work in Australia. Shared accommodation will be provided onsite for a discounted fee.

Front Office Receptionist

Overview of duties


  Greet all guest on arrival and ensure club licensing rules are adhered too.

  Ensure a smooth and efficient experience delivered to all guests at check in, during their stay and at check out. 

  Accurately and efficiently receive and process guest reservations whilst observing policy and procedures for the hotel operation. 

  Attend to all incoming calls via switchboard in a professional and polite manner, constantly striving to provide Total Customer Satisfaction.  To record and distribute all guest and employee messages accurately and efficiently.

  To ensure that the highest level of customer satisfaction & service is offered and maintained at all times in relation to welcoming guests to the SCV, the transfer, storage and handling of guest luggage and property as well as      responding to guest requests for assistance and or information.

  Co-ordinate with the Restaurant Manager in regard to Restaurant Bookings, Groups and Functions and availability.




  Provide quality service to guests and members by responding to their requests promptly, efficiently and courteously during check-in, check-out and throughout their stay.

  Maintain control of guest and hotel accounts ensuring that all charges are accurate and posted on a timely basis. 

  Maintain strict security procedures with credit and cash transactions, accounting procedures, issue of room keys and guest confidentiality.

  Ensure accuracy of reservations in respect of depositing information, billing/credit details, Member/Guest special requests, room rates and guest information.

  Contributing to maximum occupancy of the hotel by maintaining accurate rooms inventory control system.

  Assist in maximising room revenues through effective utilisation of room rates and promotional packages.  Use every opportunity to promote hotel facilities in order to maximise sales.

  Operate switchboard effectively, transfer all calls to relevant departments, deal with all callers politely and respond to requests quickly and efficiently.

  Ensure procedures are followed in regard to guest transportation, luggage collection and storage, and guest confidentiality.

  Have excellent product knowledge.  Use every opportunity to promote SCV facilities and maximise sales.

  Assist in all marketing correspondents, social media and electronic newsletters
