There is so much to love about the late summer season up here in the high country. Just because you’re back at work and the kids are back at school it doesn’t mean the fun has to stop. To help you hold onto those sweet summer vibes we’ve got a few suggestions:
The V Day gift you might want to give yourself or the outdoor lady in your life is the upcoming MIND BODY BIKE Women’s Weekend. A perfect blend of time on the trails, yoga, delicious and healthy cooking, art, self-care, guided nature walk, photography, music and more.
Now the smoke has cleared it’s a perfect time to #rollonback up to Mt Buller and Mt Stirling and discover the cross country and gravity trails. If the recent Jayco Herald Sun cycle tour got you inspired to slip on some lycra and tackle a hill climb there is 16kms of scenic twists and turns up the Mt Buller road waiting for you too!
Basically, if you enjoy time on two wheels you’ve got some great choices with everything from first-timer mountainbike fun on the friendly village Billy Buttons beginner loop to adrenaline-soaked gravity moments.
Why not make a weekend of it to link in with some of the great biking events coming up?
It’s a festival. Of bikes. On Buller. If you like riding along on a pushbike (honey) you’re going to love this. Stay up in the village to soak up the spectator events, register for some of the races, sling the bikes on the rack and just come up for a pedal with other bike-minded souls.
Check out the Festival Program and make a long weekend escape plan.
PS: You can promise the non-bike folks in your tribe plenty of wine, food and tunes at Picnic in the Park on the same weekend. Everyone wins.
…and an empty tummy for the legendary lazy Sunday at Mirimbah Park that is Picnic in the Park. Start your picnic off right with a welcome souvenir glass of the local vintage and graze your way through the afternoon under shady trees. Music, local delicacies and the soothing sounds of the Delatite River rolling by make for a perfect day. Support local growers and foodies and don’t forget to take home a few treats for the pantry. It’s the Labour Day long weekend so relax and stay the night!
