Slopestyle is now an established Olympic sport and one of the most spectacular events on the Winter Olympic Programme.

The Buller Slopestyle event is a great opportunity to compete in the Snow Australia Athlete Pathway, providing ideal preparation for the Victorian and Australian Interschools, the Australian Junior Series, all the way through to aspiring Olympic athletes.

Bib Collection: at the Race&Events Office (Opposite Arlberg/Top of Bourke Street Express) from 08:30-10:00. Remainder of uncollected bibs will be available on Top of Course.

Lift Access: A valid lift pass is required to compete in the event.

Entry Fee: $65

Entry’s Close: 5pm Thursday August 11

Age Categories

  • Grom Women (Born in or after 2010)
  • Grom Men (Born in or after 2010)
  • Open Women (Any age)
  • Open Men (Any Age)

Note: Grom eligible competitors may choose to compete in the Open division, but not in both.

Snow Australia: The event is part of the Snow Australia P+P Series

Prizes: To the top-3 finishers in each age category from event Sponsor Yuki Threads.

Format: Two runs and best run counts.

Judging Criteria

Overall Run Impression which takes into account:

  • Progression – are the tricks new, uncommon and/or creative
  • Amplitude – how big the hits are
  • Variety – a mix of tricks within the run
  • Execution – how well the tricks are performed and landed
  • Difficulty – how technical the tricks performed are

SKI

Compulsory Rider Briefing: 9:00am at top of course

Practice: 9:00-9:30am

Women’s Ski (Run 1 & 2), Men’s Ski  (Run 1 & 2): 9:45am

SNOWBOARD

Compulsory Rider Briefing: 11:45am at top of course

Practice: 11:45am – 12:15pm

Women Snowboard (Run 1 & 2), Men’s Snowboard (Run 1 & 2): 12:30pm
