Mt Buller Arts: 'Winter Wandering' featuring Katie Carmichael and 'Buller Uncovered' featuring Sue Clemenger. A collection of photographic images, large and small from two talented artists.

Winter Wandering Featuring Katie Carmichael
Katie started her career as a photographic artist at Melbourne’s Photography Studies College – majoring in fine art. From there, she then went on to work with some of Melbourne’s leading commercial photographers, developing a strong insight and understanding of the commercial aspects of photography. Now she has decided to pursue her creative interest in photography as a solo artist, allowing her to put all her energy into her unique artwork.

“I use my camera as a tool to explore the relentless power and rhythms in nature and its emotive qualities that take us to a place that allows us to reflect, to dream and to pause.” – Katie Carmichael

Buller Uncovered Featuring Sue Clemenger
Sue has been a regular visitor to Mt Buller for almost a decade.
As a love of skiing came a little later in her life, so did photography.
Six years ago she was given her first SLR camera, studies in photography followed, and a passion was ignited.
Sue’s minimal photographic style captures the detail in both built and natural environments, allowing the viewer to consider and translate what is being seen.  The images are beautifully simple, coupled with a playfulness that is unique.
“With my camera I like to interpret the things I see in a minimal way, simplifying and reducing the “noise” in my environment.  I am inspired by the detail in things that often go unnoticed or unappreciated, and find beauty in the every day.
I am driven by strong design.  Lines, patterns, colours and shapes, and the effect that light has on a surface and how that is constantly changing.  I also love abstraction and how that challenges the way we see things.”
Buller Uncovered is my exploration of the mountain beyond the ski slopes. - Sue Clemenger
