Applications are now being sought to work in our 4-star boutique hotel and spa at Mount Buller for the 2020 ski season.

The ideal candidates will have a minimum of 1-year experience in a similar role in a 4-5 star hotel/resort. A polite and pleasant manner is essential along with excellent written and verbal communication skills, immaculate presentation and an eye for detail. We require team players who are hardworking, reliable and true front office professionals. You must be prepared to work a six-day week throughout the season and always maintain a sunny disposition.

What will I be doing?

As a Guest Service Agent your primary role will be to welcome and efficiently check-in and check-out hotel guests. You are required assist the Front Office Manager in performing the daily operations of front office and reception to deliver an excellent guest experience. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Ensure a smooth and efficient experience delivered to all guests at check-in, during their stay and at check-out
  • Accurately and efficiently process hotel reservations, whilst complying with operational policies and procedures
  • Respond to all incoming phone calls, emails and guest queries in a timely, professional and polite manner
  • Assist in maximising hotel occupancy and revenue through effective utilisation of accommodation rates, promotional packages and upselling
  • Adhere to strict security and privacy policies and procedures, with relation to clients financial and personal information
  • Processing and reconciling EFTPOS, cash and online payments and end of shift handover according to procedure
  • Maintain and process guest accounts, ensuring all charges are accurately posted in a timely manner
  • Provide exceptional levels of guest service
  • Liaise and assist housekeeping with checking of rooms prior to guest’s arrival
  • Assist and effetively communicate with other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships
  • Comply with hotel security, fire regulations and health and safety legislation

  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent grooming standards

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • Industry relevant tertiary qualification
  • Extensive experience in a similar role
  • Experience using a Property Management System
  • Sound knowledge of all MS Office programs
  • Australian resident or must have a current working visa for Australia
  • Seasonal Work - must be available from March to end of September 2020.
