Fresh snow has blanketed Mt Buller just 12 days out from the official opening of the snow season.
The significant pre-season snowfall arrived at the mountain on Sunday with snow falling well below the alpine village to the delight of skiers and snowboarders counting the days to the opening of the season.
The official kick off is on the June long weekend 10-12 June when Mt Buller has promised the Bourke Street ski run will be open for skiing and boarding.
Cold temperatures are setting hopes high for more snowmaking later this week and this morning the guns were blazing top to bottom on Bourke Street, along Little Buller Spur and also at the top of the ABOM lift and Shakey Knees run.
In addition to the conventional snowmaking getting underway Mt Buller's Snowfactory has been busy making a stockpile of snow to guarantee turns on Bourke Street. The Snowfactory is able to make snow in any temperature and has already produced a massives 6000 cubic metres of snow in the past few weeks.
