Ski Club of Victoria - Food & Beverage Attendants / Head Barista


The Ski Club Victoria, passionately known as ‘The Whitt’ is looking for experienced Food and Beverage Attendants and a Head Barista to join our dynamic and diverse team for the upcoming winter season.

When the snow falls ‘The Whitt’ is buzzing and the place to be. We are 7 days a week operation with a busy 100-seater restaurant and bar, function venue and café, that offers some of the best food and dining experiences on Mt Buller.

Open for lunch and dinner, our restaurant is a family friendly venue with a focus is on classic brasserie style food and fresh produce that offers a fun and efficient working environment.

We also operate a small, but busy café, serving house roasted coffee and takeaway eats. It’s a Mount Buller hot spot and is known for its flavoursome coffee and delicious quick bites, while you are hitting the slopes.

The successful candidate must be a fun, energetic and conscientious team player, with a passion for providing great hospitality and excellent customer service. Previous experience in a busy restaurant and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment is a must.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Greet guests upon arrival, direct them to their table and provide menus.
  • Take orders and assist guests with selecting meal options to maximize sales opportunities through knowledge of menu items and suggestive selling.
  • Ensure food and beverage orders are entered into the POS system promptly and correctly, so the bar staff and kitchen team can fulfill their duties effectively.
  • Check ordered meals on collection from kitchen and deliver to guests promptly to maintain temperature and appearance; ensure items are announced.
  • Ensure tables are cleared in a timely manner and service areas kept clean and tidy.
  • Adhere to and have a knowledge of food hygiene standards and requirements.
  • Take responsibility for your designated section.
  • Close cheques and process payments through the POS system
  • Provide guests with exceptional customer service and a dining experience they feel meets their expectations.
  • Get to know our members and regular guests to ensure they feel welcome, comfortable and their requests and needs are met.

 

Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate (Victoria)


This is a casual seasonal position across a 7-day operation, that includes days, evenings, and weekend shifts.
