Australian Epic Trail is OPEN for 2026!

Australian Epic Trail is OPEN for 2026!

The accredited (IMBA) EPIC is a unique and demanding High Country adventure stretching across Mt Buller, Mt Stirling and down to the Delatite River.

This 46km alpine journey has riders earning every kilometre. Beginning with Mt Buller favourites close to the Village, the trail quickly pushes into more remote backcountry terrain as it crosses Mt Stirling before finishing along the Delatite River. Conditions in the furthest reaches can be variable, with potential tree fall and sections that feel properly wild. This is not a trail to underestimate.

Rated black and built for experienced riders, the EPIC demands physical commitment. Expect around 6–8 hours on the bike, approximately 1000 metres of climbing, and long stretches away from services. Riders must be self-sufficient and come prepared for changing alpine conditions.

The climb to the Pinnacle is steep, exposed and tests perseverance. Earn it, and you’re rewarded with an action-packed singletrack descent toward Carters Road and the flowing finish along the Delatite River.

Carry adequate water, food, tools and spares, and pack for weather that can shift quickly in the alpine environment. Preparation is part of the experience.

Alternative route options allow riders to exit the EPIC and return to more accessible trails connecting back to 2WD access points.
