2016-17 Summer Season Opening

Head up to Buller on 3-4 December 2016 as we officially open the Mt Buller Bike Park, which includes the entire network of XC and Gravity trails for the 2016-17 MTB season! There'll be plenty happening over the weekend to keep you entertained before, during and after riding so make sure you get the gang together and lock in your accommodation now and join us for an epic weekend!

Program Schedule 

SATURDAY, 3 DECEMBER  

Mt Buller Village Square

9:00am - 10:30am FREE Guided Beginner Trail Run, (on line registration required, places limited to 10 runners). 

10:00am - 3:00pm Mt Buller Bike Park and Run Buller information marquees, FREE Kids Jumping Castle, Cafes open for coffee, tunes playing on the Village Stage.

10:00am - 3:00pm Kona and Haibike demos

10:00am - 12:00pm FREE Beginner MTB Lessons, (on line registration required, places limited), BYO Mountain Bike and helmet, or arrange to hire one from All Tearrain Cycles here on the mountain. 

10:30am - 11:30am FREE Kids Hula Hoop class for ages 7yo to 14yo, (on line registration required, places limited). 

6:30pm - 7:30pm FREE Summit Sunset Trail Run, join in on a cruise to the Mt Buller Summit, and watch the sunset from 1804 metres (on line registration required, places limited). 

Mt Buller Pump Track

4:30pm - 6:00pm Pump Track Challenge, 1st prize of $400 and 2nd prize is $100, (on line registration required, places limited).

The inaugural Australasian Neglin Championships - 1st prize is a complete Mt Buller Summer Season shuttle and chairlift pass thanks to Mt Buller Ski Lifts, Blue Dirt MTB and The Mirimbah Store worth over $900. Neglin is an authentic Canadian game that makes it's Mt Buller debut for our season opening party, it involves striking a nail into a timber log (it's that easy!), registration on the night at the venue from 7:00pm, plus full instructions on how to play, hammers down at 9:00pm!

SUNDAY, 4 DECEMBER   

Alpine Central Observation Deck

7:00am - 8:00am FREE Sunrise Yoga Session, (on line registration required) BYO Yoga mats. 

Village Square

6:30am - 8:30am FREE Guided Advanced Trail Run, (on line registration required, places limited to 10 runners). 

10:00am - 3:00pm Kona and Haibike demos

10:30am - 1:30pm FREE Women's MTB Clinic with very special Mt Buller guest instructor, Lindsey Voreis. Based out of Oregon in the United States of America, Lindsey is the "Director of Inspiration" for the LIV Ladies All Ride program. This class will be aimed at intermediate female riders or better. (on line registration required, places limited to 12 riders) BYO Bike, helmet, safety equipment etc. 

10:30am - 11:30am FREE Kids Hula Hoop class for ages 7yo to 14yo, (on line registration required, places limited).

Copperhead Trailhead (opposite The Arlberg Hotel)

9:00am The Copperhead Convoy - Meet at the Copperhead Trailhead and join in on an en masse, multi rider lap of Mt Buller's Flow Down trail. Open to riders of intermediate ability level and above. 

It's not about the rider with the fastest time, it's about how many riders on the trail at the same time!

Come and set an unofficial Mt Buller Bike Park record, receive a free gift on completion of your lap and a complimentary return shuttle to the Mt Buller Village thanks to Blue Dirt MTB. (on line registration required to get your free return shuttle)

For riders wishing to continue using the Blue Dirt Gravity shuttle for the remainder of the day they must pre-purchase a day pass via the Blue Dirt website here, or purchase one on mountain at these venues: All Terrain Cycles, The Bike Club of Victoria or from the Blue Dirt shuttle drivers.
