A stunning collection of photographs in the newly opened “Buller Wide” exhibition brings expansive views of Mt Buller into focus at Mt Buller’s Alpine Central this month.
The work of renowned local photographer Tony “Harro” Harrington, the images open up fresh perspectives of the mountain through sweeping panoramic images, some captured from the air adding further drama to the photographs.
“I feel so fortunate to spend time here at Mt Buller where the views are always changing and the mountain is always providing a surprise as weather and light changes minute by minute,” explains Harrington. “I hope the many people who love this place and have a connection to Mt Buller will be moved by these images. I can see these finding homes in lodges here on the mountain and also in homes or offices down in town, anywhere people want to keep a connection to the mountain.
The images are shot in a wide format giving space to the scenes including soaring aerial perspectives of the resort, broad views that immerse you in the landscape and brilliant intricate detail.
Harrington shoots up to a dozen images that are stitched into the wide panoramas delivering incredible sharpness and detail in the images. The large prints are available in a range of formats including acrylic facemounts and fine art paper prints. “These are pieces that will hang in special places, so we make sure they shine and are museum quality. They will stand the test of time and be passed down generations.”
Buller Wide is on display at Alpine Central Mt Buller from 11 - 26 August, 2018. Entry to the exhibition is free and all images are available for purchase. For more information visit www.harroart.com or drop it to visit Tony in The Photo Shop and Rip Curl store in the village at Mt Buller.
