Merrijig Rodeo returns on the Saturday of the March Labour Day long weekend for its 51st year. Expect thrilling rodeo action, kids’ entertainment, food stalls, a licensed bar and plenty of country character, all set beneath the mountains.
For more than five decades, the rodeo has supported the local community, with event profits going directly to the volunteer groups that help bring it to life. Tickets have sold out for the past five years, so booking early is strongly recommended.

The rodeo takes place in the foothills of Mt Buller, surrounded by scenery made famous in The Man from Snowy River films. Whether you know your roping from your riding or it is your first time at the rodeo, you can expect an action packed evening and a friendly country welcome.
Watch skilled cowboys and cowgirls compete across a packed program of traditional rodeo events, including bull riding, bronc riding, barrel racing and roping. Beyond the arena, there is plenty for the whole family, with kids’ activities, sideshow entertainment, food stalls and a licensed bar for the grown ups. Whether you follow the rodeo circuit or have never seen one before, it is an exciting night of country entertainment.

Merrijig Rodeo is a night time event, with the main section starting at 6pm. There will be a transport shuttle organised between Mt Buller and the rodeo. Stay at Mt Buller for a convenient post-Rodeo plan, and wake up to the glorious mountains Sunday morning.
