Mt Buller is pleased to announce the winners following its annual Peak Pics Photo Competition.
Mt Buller’s Peak Pics Photo Competition is a contest open to photographers of all levels of experience, from enthusiastic amateurs to savvy professionals. Now in its sixth year, participants submitted their entries via the Mt Buller Facebook page capturing the theme “Never Miss a Moment”, taken within the Mt Buller & Mt Stirling resort boundaries during 2016.
In 2016, Peak Pics received over 250 amazing entries across four categories comprising of People, Landscape, Action and Light. This made it a challenging task for the judges to select the winners and finalists. The judging panel was made up of five Mt Buller based photographers, Tony Harrington of The Photoshop, Kit Rundle Mud-skim extraordinaire, Black and White portrait specialist Sealey Brandt, the legendary Mark “Woody” Woodsford, Mt Buller resort photographer Andrew Railton.
2016 Peak Pics Photo Competition Winners:
1. People: ‘Sunset Grins’, Kieran O’Brien
2. Landscape: ‘Good morning Mt Buller’, Maddi Shae
3. Action: ‘Line to the Sky’, Thomas Duvillard
4. Light and overall winner: ‘An unexpected view’, Matt Austin
A People’s Choice award was voted by the general public via the Mt Buller Peak Pics entry page, and Elise Young was awarded the title with her entry titled “Sunset Perfection” under the Landscape category.
Group Manager of Marketing, Sales and Events for Mt Buller Resort Management, Gillian Dobson, said “Peak Pics is a fantastic opportunity for people to show off their photography skills and highlight the beauty of our alpine environment. We have seen incredible talent this year and it’s great to see the number of participants grow every year”.
