The Banff Mountain Film Festival will return to Mt Buller for the eighth year running on Saturday 25 June, and is set to wow crowds again with another series of enthralling mountain adventure films. Taking in more than 390 communities in 35 countries across the globe, the tour features a collection of films inspired by mountain culture – from landscapes and culture to adrenaline-packed action sports including skiing, snowboarding, ice-climbing and BASE jumping, mountain biking and more. Audiences will be captivated by mesmerising cinematography, thought-provoking storylines and adrenalin-inducing action sequences.
The tour is produced by Mountain Culture at The Banff Centre in Canada, an organisation that promotes understanding, appreciation and education on the world’s mountain areas. The festival launched in 1976, and each year a selection of the best films are chosen to tour the world. Mt Buller is the only Australian snow resort to host the Festival, at the resort’s 180-seat cinema.
Gillian Dobson, Group Manager of Marketing, Sales and Events for Mt Buller Mt Stirling Resort Management is looking forward to Banff returning to Mt Buller. “The Banff Mountain Film Festival is a great night and it’s one of our favourite events on the Mt Buller calendar. We can’t wait to see what’s in store for us this year – there is always an incredible line-up of films taking in all aspects of outdoor adventure, with jaw-dropping and truly inspiring films showcasing people doing amazing things in the incredible environment we live in.
“Drinks and snacks will be available, as well as some great prizes up for grabs, so we encourage people to come along and enjoy the Banff Mountain Film Festival at Australia’s highest cinema here at Mt Buller.”
Films will be shown at the Mt Buller Cinema on Saturday 25 June at 7pm with doors opening from 6:30pm. Further information on the event as well as accommodation options can be found by visiting mtbuller.com.au. Tickets are $30.50 for Adults, $20.50 for Children (including resort entry for the evening) and are now available for purchase online at www.banffaustralia.com.au (online purchases attract a $2.36 booking fee).
