The sound of hooting and hollering skiers and boarders is echoing down the valley this week following massive snowfalls. 107cms has fallen on Mt Buller in August alone and the quality of the skiing and boarding is at a high.
The snow depth records are getting close to the incredible winter that was 2004. It’s officially the best snow in 10 years!
ALL the lifts are open and the mountain is blanketed top to bottom with an excellent deep cover. Runs on the northern slopes are open and deep. Check your favourite runs on the live cams here.
Mt Buller is electric with the excitement this week and welcomes hundreds of school students competing in the Subaru Victorian Interschools Snowsports Championships all week. We wish all the racers (and parents!) all the best for a week of friendship and healthy competition.
“These conditions are sensational and it’s wonderful to see happy guests skiing the entire mountain top to bottom right now. Runs that sometimes don’t get open are currently reporting excellent cover so it’s a special season and one for the memory banks,” said Buller Ski Lifts General Manager Laurie Blampied.
“We are seeing strong forward bookings for lift passes and accommodation as people are reassured of great skiing and boarding into spring. It’s great to have such confidence for local businesses and such great snow quality for our guests.”
There are still limited $90 lift passes available online for August and great deals for September including Kids Stay Free at many accommodation providers.
