4 August 2017 5pm: The snow started falling beautifully yesterday afternoon and quietly added a deep fresh 16cms to our cover overnight. More snow has been falling today so we'll update you on the new depths each morning at around 6am.
There is plenty more in store according the weather forecasts and the maps look promising. Word is at least 50mm of moisture coming in as good snowfalls across the weekend with Sunday looking like the heavier of the two days as a series of cold fronts cross the Victorian Alps.
We are readying for a solid fall tonight, easing slightly in the morning, then ramping up again Sunday night and continuing through Monday.
We should see well over half a metre accumulation by early next week, bringing natural snow depths to well over one metre. Monday will be a treat for powderhounds on the search for fresh stashes, although Tuesday has the potential for some of the deepest fresh snow we’ve seen in years.
SATURDAY - get ready for 19 lifts in action and plenty of fresh snow. Don't forget we also have Twilight Sessions on this weekend so you can continue to ski and snowplay into the night with fun under lights until 8.30pm.
Make a plan for the coming week - Monday and Tuesday are looking like great off-peak days to go nuts in the fresh snow while most people have to get back to work. Don't say we didn't give you the heads up!
Here is a taste of what Andre Bennett enjoyed earlier today as captured by Andrew Railton.
