5 June 2019: Happy days for the long weekend with the news confirmed that MORE lifts are set to roll for the Queen's Birthday celebrations.
Bourke Street Express and Bourke St carpet got started back on 1 June and for the long weekend more terrain is set to open with The Fox, Mercedes-Benz, Skyline adding to the lift count!
Cold overnight temperatures have seen lots of snowmaking on the runs and the groomers will be smoothing it all out in readiness for a fun long weekend on the slopes.
"We know how excited everyone is to get skiing and boarding and thanks to good early snowfalls and some great work from the Mountain Operations and snowmaking team we are delighted to open up more runs this weekend," said General Manager Laurie Blampied.

The snowfactories (there are now two at Mt Buller) are operating around the clock and adding snow cover to Skyline run today and then will move over to the snowplay slope in the Village to promise snowplay for the weekend on both snowplay areas.
Resort Management CEO Mark Bennetts is looking forward to the Queen's Birthday festivities, "I would like to acknowledge the hundreds of people at Mt Buller and Mt Stirling who have been working around the clock to put the finishing touches on our winter preparations and raced to be ready a week early. From the ski area to the village, to the restaurants and shops and down to the road and car parks there are people making the resort buzz and we can’t wait to welcome everyone up for fireworks, live music, parties, snowplay, skiing and snowboarding this long weekend."
Mt Stirling is open for cross country skiing, snowplay and snow shoe exploring with good cover on the trails and the Stirling Cafe ready to supply endless cups of piping hot chocolate to visitors for the traditional winter season starting celebrations. Stirling opened early on the 1 June and has already seen keen XC skiers enjoying the trails, alpine camping facilities and tooggan slope with the early snowfalls.
Lift passes are still selling for just $66 adults and $37 for kids online.
Bookings for resort entry are recommended to save up to 20% and while you are online consider booking your lift passes, lessons and accommodation for a weekend to remember! Check out the whole weekend program and make a fun plan for three days on the slopes and in the village.
