Great news Mt Buller has re-opened to public along with Mt Stirling, Craig's Hut, Circuit Rd, Razorback Hut, Howqua Hills Historic Area and other areas unaffected by the bushfires - now open to visitors.
While we welcome visitors back to our spectacular pocket of the High Country, our thoughts are with those communities dealing with devastation further afield and ongoing impacts throughout the region. Please come visit us soon, stop by the local businesses in Mansfield, and head to other beautiful Vic alpine destinations who will need support for months to come.
Note the Alpine National Park and some parts of the adjacent State Forest remain closed at this time.
We are incredibly grateful to all the emergency services workers and volunteers that have done such an outstanding job preparing and protecting the resorts. In particular for all the Forest Fire Management work by DELWP.
All walking and mountain bike trails on Mt Buller are now open and also a number of on-mountain operators have re-opened. We welcome guests to start visiting and to support our local businesses who have been affected. See what businesses are open or re-opening here.
Given the circumstances, the Mansfield & Mt Buller Cycling Club has decided to cancel the Mt Buller rounds of the Victorian Downhill Series which was scheduled for 18 – 19 January 2020. Riders are welcome to come enjoy the trails outside of the competition format.
We will continue to watch conditions and remain ready; there are still fires in the region not yet contained, and more hot and windy weather on the way. Visitors are encouraged to check the Parks Victoria website at www.parks.vic.gov.au, Forest Fire Management Victoria website and DELWP Hume Facebook page for updates on future reopening of Parks and Forests. You can also check the live webcams at Mt Buller.
