AusNet Services is continuing to work on rectifying the fault associated with Mt Buller’s power supply. As such, traffic restrictions on the Mt Buller Road near White Bridge Corner will remain in place for the remainder of the afternoon and likely into the evening as well. While inbound and outbound vehicles can still move along the Mt Buller Road, traffic flow will remain slow around this site.
The entire Mt Buller Village now has power, however mountain businesses and customers are requested to limit any non-essential electricity use while rectification works continue.
Power supply to the ski field area is still restricted, with generators continuing to be used to operate Koflers Hutte as well as ABOM, Northside Express, Howqua, Bull Run, Summit, Southside, Wombat and Grimus chairlifts and the Koflers T-Bar. Please note – as Blue Bullet is not currently operating due to power issues, twilight skiing for the evening has been cancelled.

AusNet Services located the fault with Mt Buller’s primary underground power supply late last night and will continue rectification works today at White Bridge Corner on the Mt Buller Tourist Road. While vehicles will still be able to enter and leave the resort, inbound and outbound traffic at the White Bridge site will be slowed and restricted to one lane, so please be aware of the changed traffic conditions.
In the meantime, AusNet Services has used its contingency mains power supply supported by generators to restore power to the majority of the mountain. The only exception to this is four properties and the ski field area.
Due to the restricted power supply in the ski field area, Buller Ski Lifts will be using generator power to operate chairlifts, and is aiming to have ABOM, Northside Express, Howqua, Bull Run, Summit, Southside, Wombat, Koflers, Grimus and Blue Bullet turning. A further 10 lifts are anticipated to operate once power is restored.
Mt Buller Resort Management will continue to provide updates on the power situation throughout the day.
