Friday 20 April 2018: Mt Buller is making snow today well ahead of the official opening of the season on the Queen’s Birthday weekend. The season officially gets underway in 50 days, on the 9 June.
Mt Buller’s Snow Factory can make snow at any temperature and the snow is already starting to pile up under sunny skies on Mt Buller’s Bourke Street run today.
Buller Ski Lifts General Manager Laurie Blampied was delighted with the snowmaking operations this morning. “Snow is the key to our winter and the Snow Factory’s ability to make snow well ahead of the season is great news for all snow lovers. This technology was new to Australia last winter and skiers and snowboarders now understand how it’s changed the game. We can now look to the opening of the season with confidence and guaranteed snow on the ground.”
Mt Buller Mt Stirling Resort CEO Mark Bennetts added, “Snow is a magical and special experience and seeing the Snow Factory in action this morning is an exciting reminder the winter season is just around the corner. The village is already buzzing with preparations and we look forward to getting on the snow for those first turns of the winter in early June.”
