The Ski Club of Victoria is seeking an experienced Front Office Receptionist to join their team for the coming Winter season.

The Ski Club of Victoria is the oldest alpine club in Victoria. We pride ourselves on our hospitality and historical contributions to Mount Buller as an alpine resort and community.

The successful candidate will have a professional attitude and fun-loving and friendly personality, who is not afraid to have a chat to our members. Experience in a similar role and the willingness to learn systems and follow procedures is essential. Attention to detail, excellent organisation skills and the ability to multitask are key attributes to being successful in this role.

A sound knowledge of all MS Office programs is essential and experience using a property management system (PMS), will be highly regarded


Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Greet all members and guests on arrival and ensure club licensing rules are adhered too.
  • Provide an excellent customer service experience to members and guests to ensure their needs and requirements are catered for at check in, during their stay and at check out.
  • Manage guest reservations, process deposit payments, send email correspondence and action special requests, as per the clubs operational policies and procedures.
  • Answer all incoming phone calls and respond to email inquiries in an accurate and timely manner
  • Process daily check-ins and check-outs in the PMS. Monitor in-house guests accounts to ensure all room rates and charges are posted correctly on a daily basis. 
  • Assist in maximizing room revenue and sales through effective utilization of room rates and promotional packages. 
  • Maintain and update the membership database. Process new membership applications and respond to inquiries to drive membership sales.
  • Daily shift reconciliation of all payments and charges
  • Assist with completing administrative tasks, as directed by Front Office Manager.


 Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Experience using a PMS
  • Proficient in use of MS Office


This is a casual seasonal position across a 7-day operation, that includes days, evenings, and weekend shifts. This position will ideally start immediately; however, it may be flexible for the right person.
