ABOUT US

Mt Buller Fish & Chippery is a busy, high-volume venue offering both takeaway and dine-in (50 seats) service throughout the snow season.

We cater to a wide range of customers, including walk-in guests, families, and international tour groups, requiring efficient systems, strong teamwork, and consistent output during peak periods.

THE ROLE

As a Cook, you will work as part of the kitchen team to deliver fast, consistent, and well-prepared food during service.

Key responsibilities include

• Cooking and preparing food across fryer and hot food sections
• Maintaining consistency in portioning and presentation
• Working efficiently during high-volume service periods
• Assisting with prep and kitchen organisation
• Supporting the Lead Cook and kitchen team
• Maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards

This is a hands-on, fast-paced role, particularly during peak snow periods.

WHAT YOU NEED

• Experience working in a commercial kitchen
• Mandatory: DoFoodSafely certificate (free online)
• Ability to work quickly and stay organised under pressure
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Ability to follow direction and work within a team
• Good communication skills

Highly regarded:

• Fryer / fish & chip experience
• Experience in high-volume or takeaway kitchens
