About the event

Mt Buller Australia Day Weekend

Enjoy the Australia Day weekend at Mt Buller. We will continue to add activites and events as they are confirmed here!

Saturday 23 January

  • Hottest 100 Pump Track Party 12pm – 7pm: grab your own set of hot wheels (bikes, scooters, skateboards or maybe roller skates?) for some hot laps around the Village Pump Track as we count down the hottest songs of 2020

Sunday 24 January

  • Mt Buller Summit Sunset n’ Chill 5pm – 9pm: BOOK HERE
It's as simple as a BYO picnic rug and a basket (or backpack) full of your favourite things. Mt Buller provides the freshly cut grass for you to roll out your picnic rug and enjoy the sunset from this spectacular alpine location. Gaze off into the distance, count the mountain ridgelines as they fade into the horizon while sipping your beverage of choice.

Chill out to the sounds as we release "Koflers del Mar - Volume One" for your listening pleasure. Loaded with classical chilled vibes and Tropical House favorites.
A strictly limited number of 15 picnic sites are available, and a maximum number of 10 people per site allowed under current COVIDSafe guidelines.

  • Buller Gnome Roam

Take a self-guided tour of the mystical gnome world of the mountain village and if you’re lucky catch a glimpse of resident Mt Buller gnomes, learn about their favourite places to play as well as some interesting facts about the gnome way of life.

Get a copy of the Mt  Buller Gnome Roam keepsake booklet available from Alpine Central or here online.

  • Take a Hike - There's no better way to unlock the secrets of the High Country than on your own two feet.

Some of our favourites include a hike to the Mt Buller Summit on the Summit Nature Walk, maybe an adventure down Little Buller Spur ski run and climb Little Mount Buller. Why not visit Mt Stirling and experience the breathtaking view back toward Mt Buller?!

  • Visit Telephone Box Junction and Mt Stirling – take a side trip to Mt Stirling, grab a coffee from the Stirling Café (open 10am – 3pm weekends and public holidays Dec - Easter) at Telephone Box Junction, or visit the iconic Craig’s Hut just off the Circuit Road, and create your own Man from Snow River Instagram story! All details visit the dedicated Mt Stirling website
  • Chill out in Mirimbah Park – located at the base of Mt Buller and Mt Stirling, on the banks of the Delatite River, Mirimbah Park is equipped with a kids playground, toilet block, plus free BBQ’s and shelters for entertaining all the family.

Dip your feet in the refreshing waters of the Delatite River after a mountain bike ride or walk, or maybe cast a line in the river and see what you catch.

There is free public camping in the Buller Creek camping zone immediately off the Mt Buller Tourist Road.

Due to current health measures to keep Victorian’s safe, we are still in the process of confirming all of our events and operations for the 2020-21 season. We will post updates and additional activities happening this weekend here as we confirm.

There are a range of  accommodation options available on Mt Buller including self-contained apartments, comfortable lodges and hostel style beds. Visit the accommodation section of the Mt Buller website or call 1800 BULLER (285 537).
