Mt Buller is shaping up to host the Victorian Enduro Tour, which is taking place on Saturday and Sunday, 16-17 January 2016. Run by Alpine Gravity, the Victorian Enduro Tour (formerly known as the Victorian Gravity Enduro Series) is one of the biggest and most popular gravity race formats in Australia, consisting of two full days of epic riding and friendly competition. The event features a great mix of 70% flowing descending trails and 30% undulating trails, making it accessible for all gravity riders.
The series has seen a number of changes over the past three years, from a one run all mountain stage, to the dual run elevation series and multi format gravity Enduro series. With an all-liaison stage format at Mt Buller, riders will pedal their way across each of the five stages, without shuttle and lift support during the practise session on Saturday.
A number of categories are available to enter, from Junior through to Elite, making the Victorian Enduro Tour the perfect event for all riders. Plus, a huge prize pool is on offer, with over $5000 up for grabs in the Elite Men and Women’s categories, plus enticing prize money for second, third, fourth and fifth place goers.
Event Schedule
Friday, 15 January: Trails open for practice, riding and inspection.
Saturday, 16 January: Registration from 8am in the Village Square. Official practice from 9am-4pm across all stages.
Sunday, 17 January: Compulsory rider briefing from 8am in the Village Square. Race stages are timed and combined for the riders overall position.
Alpine Gravity Chief Executive Officer, Ben Watkins, said the Victorian Enduro Tour will be even bigger and better this summer. “It’s going to be a massive weekend of riding for everyone! We’re so excited to be heading back up to Mt Buller for the third year in a row – the trails are incredible, the views are stunning and the Village has a real community feel where friends can come together and share stories and have fun.
“This year will see a change to the event, based on the growing trend across the world for multi stage, ride-to-the-top style gravity racing. We’re pumped to get the event underway and see some thrilling action out on the trails this summer.”
Entries to the Victorian Enduro Tour are now open – to enter, visit bikebuller.com.
