The Northside Express Chairlift is now open for summer, with mountain bikers and sightseers making the most of the sensational High Country conditions this weekend.
Riders wasted no time getting back onto their favourite gravity trails with easy laps into ABOM, and plenty of riders practising on International in preparation for National Champs in 2026. The new chairlift operations allow more laps and vertical for mountain bikers, pairing fast uplift with scenic alpine views on the way back to the top, and welcoming sightseeing passengers keen to experience the beauty of Mt Buller in summer.
All Terrain Cycles is set up at the top of the chairlift this summer, offering bike hire, repairs, coaching, tours and local trail advice right where riders need it. The team is open daily from 9am to 5pm, making it easy to get sorted between laps or dial in your setup before dropping back in.
“It has been unreal to see the amount of people back on the mountain, said All Terrain Cycles owner Shannon Rademaker. “We had around 140 riders over the weekend, which we have not seen in close to ten years. The chairlift has brought people back, from experienced riders to families, groups of mates and even people trying mountain bike riding for the first time. With coaching sessions running daily it is set up so anyone can come up and get involved.”
Spurs Café is also open at the top of the chairlift from 9am to 4pm every day the lift is spinning. Riders can refuel between laps, while sightseers can ride up, take in the alpine views and enjoy a well earned break at altitude.
Riders need to purchase an uplift pass, available as a single ride, multi day or season pass. Gravity trail uplift passes are valid on both Northside Express Chairlift and gravity shuttle services, depending on day of operation. The chairlift is open daily until Sunday 11th January, then on weekend and peak holiday periods until Easter. Shuttles are available for gravity trails on Mondays & Fridays from 12th January, plus regular services for pickup from Mirimbah.
Existing winter Season Members can purchase a summer season pass add on for unlimited uplift across the season.
