Time to ride (and stride)
December marks the opening of the bike trail network, so dust off your bike and get ready for some time on the trails! The team from Contour Works have been on the tools with the Mt Buller crew and almost all the trails have been given a brush up, some re-shaping and are minty fresh for riding. The 'pedally' trails are all riding well and the final touches are taking place on the gravity tracks with Outlaw and International getting a make over.
The Summit Nature Walk has had a refurb, and it's looking better than ever, with wildflowers in full bloom. There are newly landscaped steps on the southern slopes and the whole loop is in great condition for accessible walking for all the family. Make sure you do the short steep climb up to the summit for jaw-dropping regional views and be sure to tag @mt_buller in your shots - we'd love to see them.
Pump Track Ready & AirZone Open
For those in the village, the tangerine-dream pump track is waiting for riders to take on its twists and turns. And don’t forget the indoor option for adventure with the AirZone—open weekends in summer from 12 - 4pm. Bookings are a good idea - and yes - you can book a party, so drop them a line!
RockWire is Back
Looking for a serious thrill with a view? Mt Buller’s own via ferrata adventure, RockWire, is open and booking up fast! Whether you’re an experienced climber or trying it for the first time, this is one adventure you must check off your list this summer. If you're one of the lucky ones who has already climbed route 1, route 2 will be opening later in the summer, offering a whole new perspective from the cliff and a more challenging climb to get stuck into - are you up for it?
Food, Drinks & More
When you're ready for a break, head over to Arlberg House at the top of the village, or Blue Dirt in the Village Square for some tasty bites and drinks, or drop by the Buller Grocer for supplies. Other operators including Coffee Garage and Kooroora will open to meet demand - keep an eye on the What's On for the latest hours.
Locals Day Out Shuttles
A smart new way to explore more of the mountain and surrounds. Friendly and informed local drivers can connect your walking, riding, lunching, wine tasting or river dipping plans slot into place without having to debate who will do the driving. Ride down the Delatite River Trail and get a lift back to Mansfield, ride from Mansfield to Delatite Winery for a long lunch and get dropped back to your alpine accommodation on Mt Buller for the sunset... if you have a plan Local's Day Out would love to help you make it happen. Check out all the details here.
Summer Events
During the summer months you'll love the mix of activities and events that are sprinkled across this 'green season'. Browse the summer event calendar for bike events, stargazing sessions, mindful experiences and the thrilling return of Targa in a fresh new format - Park to Peak. Book your accommodation now and enjoy the buzz of event weekends on the mountain.
Stay cool in summer
If you love the idea of a cool summer escape - your favourite people might love it too. Why not package up the mountain in summer as a Christmas gift? Vouchers are available for many experiences, buy a shuttle package, book a stay, register for an event. Make this the year you give experiences instead of stuff - saves on wrapping and will be remembered for much longer than that thing you're looking at on Amazon!
Whether you're hiking, biking, or climbing, this weekend marks the beginning of another stunning summer season at Mt Buller.
Make your cool summer escape plans now and we'll see you at the summit for a sunset soon.
