From first turns on the King’s Birthday long weekend to final lifts on Sunday 5 Oct we’ve shared 121 days on the mountain and countless moments on and off the slopes. The season wrapped up under brilliant spring sunshine, with guests making the most of the blue skies and soft turns right to the very end. To celebrate the finale, Mt Buller offered FREE skiing with donations supporting our incredible Ski Patrol, marking the perfect way to close a milestone season.
As you reflect on your favourite Mt Buller 2025 memories we’ve pulled together a few highlights and stats… Some of the details will surprise you! Especially No. 5
1. EVERY lift rolled this season, and Federation delivered southern slopes happiness for 9 delicious Yurredla-infused days.
2. The 33rd ABOM Moguls Challenge made a big return and our course got a glow-up – it’s now officially renamed the Jakara Anthony Mogul Course, celebrating our homegrown Olympic Champion.
3. The Buller Ski Lifts Staff Services crew issued 2,564 uniforms to the team to keep staff including instructors, lift operations, guest services and hospitality warm and dry. They printed over 2000 name tags!
4. Mt Buller Ski Patrol’s newest, cutest and furriest trainee – Chilli – blew up the socials with over 750k views so far. She even has her own stickers.
5. The BSL hospitality team cooked a lot of hot chips. If every chip was placed end to end they worked out it would reach Melbourne. 8kms past Melbourne to be exact – so into Port Phillip Bay! Except the chips would of course be eaten by seagulls. Anyway, you get the idea.
6. We loaded onto Wombat chairlift using the mid-station again like it was 2007 and it was awesome.
7. Hungry school groups visiting resort ate 7,929 lunches.
8. Instructors from 25 different countries pulled on blue jackets to teach – in 15 different languages – this season.
9. 129 mobile phones were reporting missing, not including the ones returned in the same day!
10. The lift operations crew built serious muscles de-icing lifts for 39 days. Remember that crazy snowdrift at the Summit lift that took days to dig out?
11. Things were busy in the Ski & Snowboard School where 11,700+ beginners clicked into skis or a board and got started in a first timer lesson.
12. Mt Buller Ski Patrol clocked up 75 years of service making them the longest continuously operating ski patrol in the land.
13. Moosehead served 21,000 chicken wings. Did you go buffalo or hot maple?
14. 12,625 emails landed in the Mt Buller enquiries inbox. Guess how many people asked, “Is it going to snow tomorrow?”
15. The National Pond Skim Championships made a comeback and Taylor Swift and Travis even came to skim!
16. We rode the slopes for 121 days and if you’re wondering how long until we do it again – it’s just 243 days!
17. The year the mountain was a food lover’s dream as four celebrated Melbourne restaurants – Movida, Chin Chin, Entrecote and Marmont – brought extra flavour to Buller’s already vibrant dining scene. Turns out everything tastes better at altitude!
18. We championed women on the mountain this season with events including Women of Winter, the Snow Sisters annual dinner, Chicks Who Shred and Rossignol Ladies Day.
19. 330 schools, 3,700 starts, 6 massive days –the Mogul Ski World Victorian Interschools Cross Country Championships was a huge success in 2025.
20. The Parks crew moved mountains (literally), pushing tonnes of snow to build jumps and rails that launched riders skyward this season. Crash or stick the landing, the Skyline live cam saw it all.
