For a mind and body reset and relax
Morning walk from Mt Buller village around Summit Nature Trail
- Get a coffee and a fresh pastry at Arlberg’s Woody’s Café before you set off
- Add on side hike up to the summit to take in 360o views from the top
- Make time for photos and tree hugging (snowgums love a cuddle)

Meander to the village square and take in the Sculpture walk or help the kids find the gnomes hiding around the village on the Gnome Roam.
- Pick up a Gnome Roam booklet at Alpine Central where locals are happy to help with information
- Stock up on some snacks at the Buller Grocer

Drive to Mirimbah Park at the foot of the mountain for a picnic on the banks of the Delatite River.
- Pop into the Mirimbah Store for picnic provisions including freshly made sandwiches and pies, hot and cold drinks, wines, beers and delicious deli items
- Enjoy a visit from the local King Parrots
- Paddle, splash and dip in the river and snooze in the shade

Cruise back up to the Mt Buller village to take in the sunset.

Take in the sunset. There are so many great spots to soak in golden hour up here. Relax with some snacks and watch the sun drop over Lake Eildon and the valley below.

Bring the bikes and have fun lapping the pump track in the Village. Look for the rolling bright orange track and enjoy the rollercoaster ride. Suitable for all bikes and all ages. Want more? Go for a roll along the Family Trail loop under the snowgums and take in incredible views. Easy gentle ride for all ages.

Explore the Klingsporn Bridle Trail – this steep scenic walk is exhilarating whichever way you decide to tackle it. Climb up from Mirimbah or do it as a downhill starting at the top of the mountain. Follow in the footsteps of Mt Buller’s pioneers and cattlemen who carved out this path through the forest over 100 years ago. Arrange a pick up (or drop off) from the friendly team at Local’s Day Out to close the loop.

Ride the Delatite River Trail from Box Corner down to Mirimbah Park. It’s a beautiful roll with numerous river crossings and ferny glades along the way. Cool down with a splash in the river at Mirimbah Park and a picnic. Mirimbah Store is a great spot for a snack or a cold beverage (from Dec) and shuttles pick up to make getting back to the village easy.

Train at altitude with kilometres of running trails looping between Mt Buller and Mt Stirling for those who like a challenge. Check the event calendar and join like-minded trail lovers for running events.
Time for two - make your special someone swoon
Stay on the mountain and treat yourself to a sleep in.
- The birds will be up at dawn but you don’t need to be – take in a view from your bed
- Choose from self-catering apartments with all the creature comforts or book a hotel stay for an intimate getaway
Pack a picnic and head out for an alpine stroll through the snowgums. Choose from challenging or chilled walks with options from Family Trail (30 minutes) to a half day hike along Whiskey Creek trail and Little Buller

Take the road less travelled, together. There are plenty of 4WD trails in the area for adventurous explorers or simply take a picnic and enjoy a relaxing country drive around the Circuit Road, or out to Howqua Gap from Mt Buller.

Grab some treats to build a perfect picnic from Mirimbah Store and set off for your private lunch destination. This is the closest fuel station to Mt Buller. Mirimbah is just 20 mins down from the Mt Buller village, at the base of the mountain.

Easy unsealed exploring – nearby Sheepyard Flat and Fry’s Hut are an easy drive south of Merrijig accessing great free camping, Howqua River paddling, short walks and picnic spots. A 4WD is ideal but you can access this area in a 2WD so long as you don’t mind a dirt road!

Get your “Man from Snowy River” on – 4WD adventurers will love the trip out to the iconic Craig’s Hut beyond Mt Stirling. Make sure to play the movie soundtrack on the drive and enjoy a picnic with superb regional views

Do the lap – the Circuit Road can be a full day exploration from Mt Buller, right around neighbouring Mt Stirling via Howqua Gap. Best in a 4WD or possible in a 2WD in dry weather you’ll want to stop along the way for photos and picnics with a view
