11th Annual Burton Cattleman's Rail Jam 2016

8 July 2016

It’s that time of the winter! The 11th Annual Burton Cattleman’s Rail Jam is set to blow up the Village Square at Mt Buller on Saturday 9th July.

Australia’s best snowboarders have their sights set on Mt Buller and are ready to compete under lights for a share of $10,000 worth of cash and prizes in what is one of Australia’s most legendary rail events.

Since 2006, the Cattleman’s Rail Jam has drawn the best snowboarding talent in the country.  It’s challenging, intense and exciting to watch.  For more than a decade it’s dazzled spectators with an exciting progression in the sport and more than its fair share of career defining moments for the athletes involved.

In 2016, a brand new competition format will offer the chance for Australia’s best up-and-coming snowboard talent to feel the full Cattleman’s experience, with qualifiers taking place for the first time on the actual stair-set itself.

From 2pm, the Mt Buller Village square will transform into a qualification battleground, with a qualifying jam on a refined Cattleman’s rail set up, featuring live music, entertainment and plenty of giveaways. The top 10 qualifiers from the day’s heats will go on to compete against previous competition winners, including four-time champion Jye Kearney, for a share of the $10K prize pool.

Finals kick off at 6pm with free entry, giveaways and more.

Riders can register for qualifiers at 1pm, Saturday, July 9th at the Burton tent in Village Square, however spots are limited to 60.

The famed Burton Cattleman’s after party will be held at Mt Buller’s Kooroora Hotel from 8:30pm.

Burton Cattleman’s Rail Jam partners include the Frank MBP Terrain Park, Skullcandy, Traeger Grills, Transfer Snowboard Magazine and Mt Buller.
