Resort Entry
All vehicles entering Mt Buller or Mt Stirling during the declared snow season pay a Resort Entry fee that supports the provision of essential services including road clearing and parking facilities.
- Print your pass before you come so you can enter the Resort quicker.
- Valid for vehicles with 9 or less seats
- Not valid for commercial operators, bus/coach entry fees apply
- The car parks are located 1 - 4kms below the Mt Buller Village, from where you can take the Northside Express chairlift to the slopes, free shuttle for day visitors to the village, or Ride Share to accommodation.
- Season Pass holders visiting for a day on weekends in July or August are required to reserve a space at least 12 hours before arriving.
Wheel Chains
All vehicles entering the resort must carry diamond pattern wheel chains.
Wheel chains can be hired in Mansfield, Merrijig, or Mirimbah. You must have them in your vehicle from Mirimbah entry onwards. Wheel chains are not available for hire on-mountain.
NOTE - a number of cars are unable to fit chains in accordance with their user manual, plus some tyre sizes may be inappropriate for snow chains (wide and/or low profile tyres are often difficult to fit).

What if I can’t print my Dashboard pass?
If you can’t print your dashboard pass, have a copy of your purchase confirmation on hand and stop at the resort entry gate when you arrive (at the bottom of the mountain), the resort entry team can print your pass for you.
What if I am renting a vehicle and do not know the vehicle registration?
Please stop at the entry gate (at the bottom of the mountain) when you arrive, show your purchase confirmation to the resort entry team who will record the vehicle registration and print your pass.
Why does my vehicle registration need to be correct?
Mt Buller uses licence plate recognition software. Putting in your correct vehicle details ensures the system recognises your vehicle, matches them to a valid entry pass and prevents a fine.
Where do I park?
The carparks on Mt Buller are located 1-2kms from the main Mt Buller village. Parking attendants will greet and direct you to the closest available parking space, from here you can either head straight on to the slopes via the Northside Express chairlift or ride a free shuttle bus up to the village.
Can I leave the mountain and re-enter the next day with the same day ticket ?
No, if you leave the mountain in your vehicle you will need to purchase another day entry pass for your vehicle if you return the next day. If you stay overnight you need to have purchased a resort entry ticket that covers the entire period of your stay.
Is there a discount for seniors?
If all occupants of the vehicle are aged 65+, then resort entry is free when capacity permits. This discount is only available upon arrival at Mirimbah entry gate. Vehicles are required to stop at Mirimbah entry to collect their entry pass and verify occupants are all aged over 65. On peak visitation days (generally weekends during July and August), if guaranteed day entry is desired, we recommend guests aged 65+ purchase resort entry online at least the day before arrival.

Where do I park?
Overnight carparks are located approximately 2-4kms below the Mt Buller Village. Car parks on Mt Buller are numbered from 1-11, so note your carpark number (a photo is a good idea!) when you arrive to help your Ride Share or private transfer return you to the right location for your departure
How do I get to my accommodation from the car parks?
There are Ride Share and Private Transfer Services to deliver you and your luggage to your village accommodation. Pre-purchase a Ride Share or Private Transfer online when you buy your parking HERE.
Can I hop on the free shuttle bus?
No. The overnight carparks are located further away and not serviced by the free shuttle bus. Luggage is not permitted on the free shuttle. Overnight guests are met in the carparks by the Ride Share Transfer service, or your pre-arranged Private Transfer.

I’m staying overnight, do I need to use the Ride Share?
All overnight guests to Mt Buller must take a Ride Share or Private Transfer from the car parks to their accommodation. To save on Ride Share, purchase your Transfers here before midnight before arrival.
What times do ride share operate?
Ride Shares operate 7 days, from 7am - midnight. Out of hours times must be booked and incur an additional charge of $100.
Are there baggage limits?
Each person using the Ride Share service can carry up to 2 large bags, 1 ski/snowboard bag or set of skis or snowboard, 1 set of ski or snowboard boots 1 carry-on small item such as a day pack or handbag. All excess luggage will be charged at $10.00 per piece.
Can I buy a single trip?
One-way tickets to/from the overnight carparks are available to purchase. Guest can also purchase transfers for travel within the village.
What is a Private Transfer?
Private Transfer services are an alternative transfer option to the Ride Share Transfer for guests at Mt Buller. They offer transport to, from and within the Village for individual bookings, like a traditional taxi or Uber. Double Black Alpine and Mt Buller Snowgum Xpress have permits to provide these services and set their own fares and operating hours.
How can I book a private transfer?
A booking can be made by contacting the private transfer operators directly. Their details can be found here.
When using a private transfer service to travel direct to your accommodation from outside the resort, entry fees of $22.70 per adult and $16.30 per child are payable and usually incorporated into the fare charged by the service provider. Please check with your provider.
When does the Snowplay Express operate?
It is offered on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) in July and August only. This service is for day visitors only in vehicles with 7 seats or less. Not bookable for minibuses, overnight guests or tour groups/commercial operators. Toboggans are not allowed on the Snowplay Express
Do I have to book both my departure and return times?
Yes when you book, you must choose your same day departure and return time. Each passenger must have their own seat booked.
How long does it take to get from Mirimbah to the Mt Buller Village?
It takes approx. 45 minutes
What if I miss my departure time?
It is very important to be ready at least 15 minutes before your scheduled departure. If you miss your booking, there may not be seats available on the next vehicle.
Do I need wheel chains?
No, you do not need to carry wheel chains if you are catching the Snowplay Express. One of the benefits of this service – you don’t need to drive the mountain road, the professional driver will take you safely to the village.

The Snowplay Express departs from Mirimbah Park located through the Entry gate at Mirimbah (at the base of Mt Buller). Parking attendants will direct you where to park. The Snowplay Express will take you directly to the Mt Buller Village Centre.

Should I buy a vehicle season pass?
The vehicle season pass gives access to both Mt Buller and Mt Stirling throughout the entire snow season, so it’s a great option for people who make frequent trips to the resort.
Can I use the same pass for multiple vehicles?
The seasons pass is not transferable and can only be allocated to one vehicle’s registration.

Vehicle Season Pass
Vehicle Season Pass provides entry to Mt Buller and Mt Stirling day and overnight car parks only (no access/parking in Mt Buller Village). Vehicle season passes are not available to commercial motor vehicles including any motor vehicle which is used or intended to be used for carrying passengers for hire or reward.
