Resort Entry
All vehicles entering Mt Buller or Mt Stirling during the declared snow season pay a Resort Entry fee that supports the provision of essential services including road clearing and parking.
If you are driving, you will need to purchase Resort Entry and print your pass to display. You also legally need to carry chains.
If you are driving and staying overnight, you will also need a Ride Share to transfer you and your luggage to your accommodation. The Carpark Shuttle does not connect to overnight carparks.
If you are catching a bus, Resort Entry is covered in your ticket.
Print your dashboard pass at home for express entry.
Resort Entry, Parking & Transfers
What is a Ride share?
A Ride Share provides transport for you and your luggage between overnight carparks and village accommodation, or in-resort transfers if desired too.
If you have driven and are staying for the day, you can catch the Carpark Shuttle to village. If you have driven and are staying overnight, you must book a Ride Share. The Carpark shuttle does not connect to overnight carparks.
There is a maximum of 10 passengers per vehicle, and multiple groups are likely to share the same Ride Share. Children older than 12-months must have a seat reserved to ensure vehicle capacity limits are not breached.
Passengers are permitted up to 2 large bags, 1 set of skis/snowboard, 1 set of ski/snowboard boots and 1 small carry-on item such as a day pack or handbag. Excess luggage is charged at $10 per piece.
Book your RideShare in the blue e-commerce module above, and manage your booking through BusIO.

Read more about Wheel Chains, including where to rent them, to ensure you are prepared for your drive.
Want to skip the chains hassle? There are alternative options to get to the Mt Buller Village - including parking off mountain and catching the Village Express from the Resort Entry Gate to the Village, or catch a bus all the way from Melbourne instead.

When you arrive at Mt Buller, staff will direct you to the nearest available park - depending on if you are coming for a day trip or an overnight stay.
Mt Buller has eleven different car parking areas - so make a note of where you are parked to easily return at the end of your stay.
From there, catch the free Day Carpark Shuttle to the Village if you're just coming for a day, or catch your Ride Share to your accommodation if you are staying overnight.
-
If you can’t print your dashboard pass before you leave home, stop by the Resort Entry gate at Mirimbah with a copy of your purchase confirmation on hand. The resort entry staff there can print your pass.
You must have a printed pass on your dashboard and failure to present one may incur a fine.

The best approach for staying off hill is to buy Day Entry for each day you plan to visit. This means you can catch the free Day Carpark Shuttle to the Village (or Northside Express if snow permits) rather than purchasing a Ride Share from the overnight carpark each day, as shuttles do not connect to the overnight carparks.
