MVP News

2 July 2026

In conditions described by insiders as “highly competitive with intermittent gusts of excellence,” Mt Buller Marketing team’s own Emmie Phillips and Rhylla Morgan have narrowly missed out on this year’s MVP Award, despite one anonymous judge claiming "Marketing are the best, chuck out the rest".

Emmie Phillips, nominated under the topical banner “Have fun, it’s an adventure,” was recognised for bringing a level of brightness usually requiring 1m+ of snow and at least three rounds of stakeholder approval. Colleagues described her as “a ray of sunshine,” which, in mountain terms, is both meteorological praise and a strategic asset.

Whether the conditions outside are terrific, torrential, or somewhere in the familiar marketing low-pressure system of “can we have this live yesterday?”, Emmie’s friendly and upbeat attitude continues to generate a reliable high pressure system across the team. Analysts believe her positivity has a stronger conversion rate than most tactical campaigns and significantly lower technical challenges.

Rhylla Morgan, nominated for “Leadership Excellence,” was similarly celebrated for her calm, generous and expert handling of new staff, work experience students and assorted fresh arrivals to the BSL ecosystem. In a company where onboarding an intern can sometimes resemble teaching a Bunyip how to ski on the White Ribbon of Life in peak hour, Rhylla has become known for making the complex look as composed as a $50 gong session at Breathtaker Spa.

Despite the usual workload moguls, calendar cornices and communications whiteouts, Rhylla consistently finds time to help people find their feet, understand the terrain and avoid skiing directly into the metaphorical meingast.

The judging panel ultimately awarded the MVP elsewhere, a decision the Marketing Department has accepted with the dignity of a team that knows how to reframe a narrative, and has already begun workshopping alternative award architecture.

Still absolute peak performance.
