Last Laps for a Local Cause

In a silver lining to a shorter than usual snow season, Buller Ski Lifts decided to do something special to celebrate the final day of skiing – which happened to fall on Father’s Day.

“Closing day is a special day for our team and our community, and this year when it fell on Father’s Day it felt like an opportunity to wrap the season doing a positive thing for men in our local community,” Ross Taylor, Assistant GM for Buller Ski Lifts said. “The Mansfield Men’s Shed does important work bringing people together and creating a place where people in our area can connect, share skills, swap stories and enjoy a good conversation. We’re thrilled that everyone who bought a lift ticket on closing day has contributed to this.”

Buller Ski Lifts donated $12,982.81

Mansfield Men’s Shed President Chris Rath said the donation was a significant boost to plans underway to improve and expand the Men’s Shed into new premises.

“We’re so grateful to Buller Ski Lifts for this generous support, for choosing our organisation and for recognising the role the Men’s Shed plays in Mansfield and our valley,” Chris said. “Our plans for a new Shed are about creating a purpose-built space where we can do more, welcome more people and continue providing somewhere local people can come together, work on projects, learn from each other and connect. This contribution is an important step towards making this goal happen” he added.

The donation underpins the connection between Mt Buller and Mansfield and Buller Ski Lifts commitment to continuing to support community organisations.
