WHEN IS THE LIFT STATUS UPDATED?
The Control Centre in Mountain Operations start updating lift status from 6am daily as the outdoor team de-ice, roll and open lifts. Overnight all open lifts are placed on standby and will be 'opened' and turned green as they get clearance and roll (usually at 8.30am - 9am depending on the lift opening times). At 5pm the lifts that are expected to run the following day are placed on standby as they are shut down for the night. If a lift is showing closed it is unlikely to be open the next day.
IS THE MT BULLER LIVE APP SHOWING REAL TIME UPDATES?
Yes. The app automatically pulls data feeds from the mtbuller.com.au website and updates continually. The website is updated by the Control Centre on the upper mountain in real time when a lift is opened/closed/put on standby so check online and you will see the latest lift and run information every day of the winter.
WHAT DOES STANDBY MEAN?
Standby (yellow) means the lift is on standby or wind hold at that moment and may operate later in the day or is expected to open the next day if you see this status on the app or website overnight.
Lifts may be on standby for a range of reasons including mechanical reasons (the lift is being checked or cleared to open), snow cover or conditions (there may not be runs open for skiing in that area) or other factors like de-icing or wind hold.
