Getting Here

Mt Buller is about 3 hours (248 km) from Melbourne via Mansfield. There are a few different routes you can take from Melbourne.

Fuel and EV charging

• Top up your fuel in Mansfield — there’s no fuel available on the mountain.
• EV charging available at Horse Hill Carpark
• If you drive a diesel vehicle, grab alpine diesel or a winter additive.

Stay Safe on the Road

• Start your trip well rested.
• Take a break every 2 hours.
• Plan for a coffee stop (or two!).
• Feeling tired? Pull over and take a quick 15-minute nap.
• Avoid driving at times you’d normally be asleep.
• Keep an eye out for wildlife, especially near Merrijig and Mirimbah - animals are often on the road around sunrise, sunset, and at night.
• Before driving off, make sure you clear all snow off your car — it’s safer and required by law.
