What You need to know

All vehicles entering the resort must carry wheel chains.

Pre-purchase and print your resort entry dashboard pass at home for express entry. If you can't, visit our friendly team at Resort Entry who can print it for you.

Display your Resort Entry dashboard pass in your windsheild and drive up to the carpark, where you will be directed to a space.

Catch the free Carpark Shuttle from the day carpark to the Village.

If you are bringing a vehicle with 9+ people, you will need to purchase the 'Minibus' Resort Entry product per passanger.

BEFORE ARRIVING

Print your Resort Entry Dashboard pass before you leave and have it ready to show at the gate.

If you cannot print ahead of time, stop by the staff booths at the Mirimbah Entry Gate to get it printed for you.

Pick up chains before entering the resort. By law, all vehicles must carry wheel chains after the Mirimbah Entry Gate. You will be instructed if you need to fit them on your car when driving up the mountain.

ARRIVING

As you enter the resort, our parking team will direct you to the next available parking area.

Then, catch the free Carpark Shuttle bus from the car parks to the Mt Buller Village and get on the slopes.

If you have a valid lift or sightseeing ticket you may also be able to catch the Northside Express chairlift for direct access to the ski slopes, depending on snow conditions.

Mt Buller has eleven car parking areas, ranging from 1km below the Village, to the Mirimbah Entry gate at the base of the mountain.

All parking areas are exposed to the weather. Please check the forecast before travelling and dress appropriately for an alpine environment, with warm, waterproof clothing and suitable footwear.

Got an electric vehicle? Find an EV charger conveniently located at the Horse Hill carpark. Ask parking staff when you arrive where to go.

DEPARTING

At the end of the day, you can return to your car park by taking the Northside Express Chairlift to Horse Hill or catching the free Carpark Shuttle bus from the Village Square. Shuttle buses go to all car parks.

FAQs

Day visitors

: All vehicles travelling to the resort are required by law to carry diamond‑pattern wheel chains. Penalties apply if you arrive without them.

Some vehicles are not able to fit wheel chains due to manufacturer restrictions. We recommend checking your vehicle’s owner manual before hiring chains. If your vehicle isn’t suitable, there are alternative transport options available to help you get to the resort safely.

Wheel chains must be hired before arriving at the Mirimbah entry gates at the bottom of the mountain. You’ll find wheel chain hire outlets conveniently located in Mansfield and Merrijig.
: If you can’t print your dashboard pass, have a copy of your purchase confirmation on hand and stop at the resort entry gate when you arrive (at the bottom of the mountain), the resort entry team are able to print your pass for you.
: Please stop at the entry gate (at the bottom of the mountain) when you arrive, show your purchase confirmation to the resort entry team who will record the vehicle registration and print your pass.
: Mt Buller uses licence plate recognition software. Putting in your correct vehicle details ensures the system recognises your vehicle, matches them to a valid entry pass and prevents a fine.
: The carparks on Mt Buller are located 1-2kms from the main Mt Buller village. Parking attendants will greet and direct you to the closest available parking space, from here you can either head straight on to the slopes via the Northside Express chairlift or ride a free shuttle bus up to the village.
: No, if you leave the mountain in your vehicle you will need to purchase another day entry pass for your vehicle if you return the next day. If you stay overnight you need to have purchased a resort entry ticket that covers the entire period of your stay.
: Yes, local residents who arrive after 4:30 and show their driver's license with their local address will be eligible for free resort entry for the rest of the day
