Rip Curl Gromsearch 2018

Mt Buller is expecting severe weather today and the lift company have indicated that there is the potential for wind hold on lift operations resulting in reduced access to terrain.

This limits our options to hold the event in the way that we like and in the interest of safety, and holding a quality event we have decided to postpone the 2018 Rip Curl Mt Buller GromSearch.

Competitors will be contacted regarding a refund.

Seizing on the excellent mid season snow conditions at Mt Buller Rip Curl is bringing its popular Gromsearch format back to the mountain on Sunday July 29.

Skiers and boarders under 17 are invited to shred the mountain with good friends and a few well-known faces from the Rip Curl snow team exploring Mt Buller's diverse terrain in a freestyle 'expression session' format.

Photographer Tony 'Harro" Harrington will be rolling with the Gromsearch crew and shooting all the action at each stop so each participant can go home with a professional shot to remember the day. Sounds like a pretty good Sunday morning session!

Organizers and Rip Curl teamriders will keep an eye on the participants, share a few tips and award prizes for notable performances.  Everyone who books in will receive a Rip Curl gift, plus a social media photo of their choice shot by Harro.  Groms also have the chance to win more great prizes on the day and all skiers and boarders under 18 are welcome to join.  Let's get sendy!

Entry fee - $10 includes Rip Curl gift and event photo.

The GromSearch Snow Session is based on a ‘Expression Session’ format where participants session a designated area and throw down whatever they feel like in the alloted time.

Open to: Male and female and ski and snowboarders. Age categories - 16 & under, 14 & under and 12 & under age groups.
