If your idea of a perfect getaway involves getting in a bit (or a lot) of physical activity and submerging yourself in an incredibly beautiful natural landscape, combined with a good dose of relaxation, Mt Buller and Mt Stirling make the ideal holiday destinations this summer.

Shaking off our mantle of snow and emerging from winter hibernation to reveal our refresh and reinvigorated resort, the sister reports officially open for summer on 1 December.

We can’t let this go by without a celebration - and this year is set to be the biggest and best yet.

Summer Season Launch (or the Big Bang Weekend) 1 – 2 December

We like celebrating! A lot. And when there’s something to celebrate we like to do it with a bang. Not only is our amazing bike store and shuttle operator All Terrain Cycles celebrating 10 years of operation (where did that go?), we have a massive bike event in resort and all our trails open.

That’s worth celebrating, so this opening weekend will go off – with a bang.

There’s a tonne of fun for family and friends across the weekend, including horse rides and a guided hike on Mt Stirling and Air-fit, yoga, guided walks and runs on Mt Buller, culminating in a Dirt Jump competition, 10-year birthday party and an explosive firework show to light up the mountain.

120km trail network opens

Our 120km world-class trail network will open for bikers, runners and walkers, ensuring some of the best riding (and running and walking) in the country. It’s been a long time between rides (or runs, or walks) and the trails are in pristine condition. There’s never been a better time to ride!

Full shuttle service also begins, moving riders on both the gravity and XC trails.

Dirt Jump competition 1 December, 3.30pm

The Dirt Jump competition sees riders jam for qualification in a one-hour expression session, followed by ‘Best Trick’ and ‘Best Whip’ finals. This is the first an event like this has been held on the mountain and is guaranteed to be awesome spectacle for competitors and guests alike.

Shimano Enduro Asia Pacific Continental Series 1 - 2 December

The second leg of a three-stage series, the Shimano Enduro sees world-class riders converge on the mountain endeavouring to earn points for entry into the global tour. Legends of the track Sam Hill, Josh Carlson and Rae Morrison will be making an appearance and setting a high bar for competition. This two-day event culminates in a great day of racing on Sunday, ideal for spectators to get amongst the action.

Buller Air Zone Weekends December and January

From budding future Olympians to active kids and adventurous adults, everyone will love Mt Buller’s newest year-round facility, the Buller Air Zone – where you can play, jump and climb where Olympians train! With Olympic standard equipment, this giant freestyle playground is suitable for all ages and abilities.

Ideal for parties and functions, this low stress option will have the kids (and grown-ups!) jumping for joy!
