REGIONAL VICTORIA WELCOMED BACK TO THE MOUNTAINS

Mt Buller Mt Stirling is delighted to confirm Mt Buller & Mt Stirling will reopen to visitors from regional Victoria from Thursday 17 September following the Premier’s announcement of the Third Step of the roadmap to reopening the state.

Resort CEO Mark Bennetts confirmed the eagerly awaited news,

“We invite our fellow country Victorians to come for a drive and visit us in the mountains to stretch your legs, get some fresh air and enjoy the magic of spring up here.  There is a little snow still on Bourke Street for some family snowplay fun and we know how keen everyone is to get outside again.”

“This is an important first step towards revitalising our community, tourism and local businesses and we are already working hard on preparations for the seasonal change from snow season to ‘green season’ in the coming weeks.”

Resort Entry will be free for visitors with car access to the Mt Buller Village and to Telephone Box Junction at Mt Stirling from tomorrow - subject to road conditions. 

Snowplay will be available on the designated area on Bourke Street near ABOM while snow conditions permit.  The ski area is now closed to skiing and boarding and lift operations are concluded for the 2020 season due to insufficient snow cover. Toboggan rental will be available.

Visitors are encouraged to come up and catch the last of the winter snow, take in the views and support the alpine community.  Coffee and light meals are available at ABOM, The Villager, The Coffee Garage and the Buller Grocer is open with a wide range of picnic items, snacks, groceries and liquor. 

All DHHS health guidelines remain in place in resort including capacity constraints in line with the resorts Covid Safe Plan, and the mandatory use of face coverings.

Regional Victorians wishing to book accommodation can search at mtbuller.com.au as local operators gradually open where possible.

• All cars coming into the resort must stop at the gate to register details for capacity and tracing purposes and a temperature check.
  • If you are unwell please stay home and get tested.
• Overnight visitors are required to carry wheel chains as snowfalls are possible at any time.
• Mountain bike trails remain closed for maintenance and will progressively open from Cup weekend in early November.
• All visitors are to follow all signs in resort and stay on marked trails to protect precious flora and fauna
• Limited venues are open in resort and checking opening hours is recommended
